Eight spaces
The baths and the spaces around them
Heat, cold, water and quiet, each with its own room. You move between them at your own pace, with the parmaster deciding when and for how long if you want him to.
Heat
Russian steam room with Billo bells
The main room of the house: dry heat, high benches, and the parenie done here with oak and fir brooms. Set into it are Billo bells — flat, tuned bells struck while you lie in the heat, so you feel the sound as much as hear it, struck while you lie in the heat. No other steam room in the world has them.
The parmaster controls the temperature and the humidity round by round, so the same room can feel like gentle warmth or serious work depending on who is lying on the bench.
- The only steam room in the world with Billo bells
- Parenie with oak and fir brooms
- Heat adjusted to the guest, round by round
- Felt bath hat compulsory
Heat
Yurt banya
A round vault instead of a flat ceiling, which sends the steam down evenly and makes it wrap around you rather than strike from above. Softer, denser, easier on a first-time guest — and preferred by plenty of experienced ones.
It has its own entrance, so a group in the yurt never crosses paths with a group in the Russian bath.
- Rounded vault, soft enveloping steam
- Separate entrance from the Russian banya
- 90,000 ֏ for two, 30,000–40,000 ֏ per person for a group
Water
Furako
A cedar tub filled with hot water, standing in the open air. You climb in after the steam room, sit up to your shoulders, and watch the sky over Nor Nork while the heat leaves you slowly instead of all at once.
- Cedar tub, hot water
- Outdoors, under open sky
- The slow way down from the steam room
Cold
Ice barrel
An oak barrel of ice water. Three seconds is enough. The cold shuts the heat off, clears your head, and leaves you warm from the inside for a long while afterwards.
Entirely optional. Nobody will push you in, and skipping it does not spoil the session.
- Oak barrel, ice water
- Three seconds is a full dose
- Free for groups of eight or more
- Always optional
Cold
Snow in summer
A snow machine outdoors that makes real snow, even in July — the only one in Armenia. It is the gentlest way to take the cold: instead of one drop into ice water, you stand in the cold air, press snow onto your shoulders and arms, and let the temperature fall at the speed you choose.
- Real snow, the only such room in Armenia
- The gentlest cold in the house
- You control how far and how fast
Water
Pool under a glass roof
A full-length pool under glass, with greenery around it and daylight coming straight down. This is where most of the third hour goes — the swimming is slow, the talking is quiet, and nobody is in a hurry to go back into the heat.
- Glass roof, daylight and greenery
- Cool water between rounds
- The room where visits usually end
Water
Pour-over waterfall
Cold water falling into greenery, standing between the steam room and the rest area. A few seconds under it does the same work as the barrel with a fraction of the drama, which makes it the usual first step for guests who are still deciding about the ice.
- Cold pour-over, set in greenery
- A softer alternative to the ice barrel
- On the way between heat and rest
Quiet
Hall of singing bowls
Thirty minutes of meditation after the steam. You lie down, the bowls are played beside and above you, and the sound does most of the work while a warmed body does the rest. Booked separately, and best kept for the very end of the visit.
- Thirty-minute session after parenie
- Lying down, nothing required of you
- 10,000 ֏ per person
- Book it in advance with your program
